What Are We Doing in History Now?

Ancient Rome
After delving into what life was like in ancient Greece, we have begun our study of the ancient Romans.
Although Roman civilization began well over 2,500 years ago, we have much information about how the Romans lived. The works of Roman writers can still be read today, hundreds of buildings still survive, and objects and ruins that once laid buried underground have been uncovered by archaeologists.
As we explore life in ancient Rome, we focus on how that ancient civilization still influences our modern life; from language, government, law, architecture, engineering, to our calendar.
Ancient Roman culture is not only fascinating to learn about, but forms one of the foundations for our modern Western world.
