Cindy Sturdivant--Teacher Librarian
Welcome to the OMS Library. I grew up in North Carolina and have lived in Black Mountain since 1997. I went to college at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC where I majored in deaf education. After teaching at the North Carolina School for the Deaf for 7 years, I decided to go to graduate school. I spent the next two years getting my Master's Degree at UNC (go Tarheels!!!). I returned to NCSD as the middle school and high school librarian and stayed until I moved to OMS in 2004. After several years at OMS, I got my National Board Certification in 2008. Stop by and ask me for a book recommendation. Feel free to recommend a book for the library! Check out our maker space where students and staff can create stuff, design for 3-D printing, and work as coders.

Hello! I am so glad you stopped by! I grew up in northern Michigan. My family and I moved to Swannanoa in 2008. I have been an active substitute teacher in the Owen school district since 2012. I attended college at AB-Tech and have a diverse background in childhood education. I enjoy hanging out at the beach with my family, reading, gardening, and baking. I can't wait to meet you. Please stop by and check out our awesome media center!
