In the winter of the 2010-11 school year, the staff at Owen Middle School found out we were eligible to apply for an IMPACT V grant. We applied and were one of the twelve schools awarded the grant.  This two year grant was set up to provide professional development and to enhance the media and technology program at our school.
A portion of the grant provided Masters Degrees for the four teachers on the grant.  Additionally, money from the grant provided: professional development for the entire grant team, professional development for the faculty of OMS, and new technology for OMS.
The following staff members were on the IMPACT V grant team at OMS:
Loretta Wilson (8th grade social studies)
Laurel Hawkins (8th grade math)
Amanda Venturella (CTE teacher)
Erin McCully (former OMS chorus teacher)
Cindy Sturdivant (Teacher librarian)
Heidi Von Dohlen  (Administrator)
