Aiken, Robert -- Science (8th)

About me:

I am originally from Atlanta, GA. I spent most of my childhood and early adolescence there before moving to Tifton, GA. I attended Tift County High School (Class of ‘97). I was a member of the color guard and winter guard. (There was not much time for anything else!). I spun, and still spin, rifle, silk, and some (although not my favorite) sabre.

After graduating, I first attended Georgia State University as a biology education major. I ended up transferring to Valdosta State University where I finished my Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in ‘02.

I did not practice nursing very long. After about 6 months (OK, I REALLY hated it)I went to work for my family farm back in Tifton, GA.

I moved to Asheville in 2008 and got my teaching certificate from UNC-A in 2011. I started teaching math (7th grade and 8th grade). About three years ago, I moved to science.

When I am not teaching or doing teacher things in my free time, I love to travel (Switzerland is my favorite destination), water ski, swim, read, etc. I have two dogs: Bella (Doberman) and Tyra (Husky), and two freshwater aquariums.
