The Buncombe County Schools Teacher Advisory Council recently gathered for the final time this school year. 

The group, which includes representatives from the system’s 45 schools, focused on studying recently released data from the North Carolina Teacher Working Conditions Survey. It was a chance to discuss opportunities to observe other teachers and other opportunities for growth.

BCS Superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson addresses the  teachers seated in the meeting room.“As a science teacher, I truly value the opportunity to have meaningful data,” said Martha Tallent of Enka Middle School. “I’m so grateful that BCS had such a tremendous response rate.”

Another area of celebration was the response to the question “My school system is a good place to work and learn.” Results for BCS showed 95% of respondents strongly agreed or agreed with that statement.
